6/4/2000 - Check the home town papers. Small town papers are rather chatty. They might give you the town that the West family moved to and often information that freinds recieved will be posted. Also if Ethel remarried that might be carried in the local paper too. I have had far more luck filling in the details with papers than other resources.

http://userdb.rootsweb.com/tx/death/search.cgi and found the following:
Dubose Glenn Gray 09-13-1989 died in HARRIS Co., TX.
Then I checked that against the SocSec Death Index (SSDI) using both full
names and then wildcards (Dub* & Gle*) and didn't find a listing for any
Dubose or variant on the above date.
I wonder if the Mr. Dubose listed in the TX death database could be then
missing son? Perhaps someone with access to Houston newspapers might check

Not only that, my family came out of Tennessee and Alabama and South Carolina. 6/7/2000 - The only information I have about this might be relevent is that when I was about 5 years old (1953) I visited my grandparents in Oklahoma. My grandparents were friends with a couple whose name was West-Elva and Lee. Lee worked with my grandfather for Phillips Petroleum Company in Oklahoma City. Don't know if this will help but you never can tell.

10/9/2000 - There is a Dubois grave plot at the Ford"s Mill Church Cemetery about 3 miles NE of Waterloo on Second Creek. I talked to a Terry Dubois whom I knew when I went to Waterloo School. I have been to this cemetery sevreral times but cannot remember the names on the monuments there. 7/9/2001 - Just noticed that the info said that he may have gone to Indiana. There is a Duboise Co.,Indiana. It is in the southern part of Indiana. It was named after a famous man named Duboise. There are many Duboise listed in the phone book. You might want to try the surrounding counties such as Pike,Gibson,Spencer,etc. The southern part of Indiana are loaded with Duboise families. Judy T.

I don't know of any way to help in the search for Glenn, but I wish I could introduce Alex to my grandmother. She's 92 (so she claims, we think it's more like 94 or 95), has been dancing all her life, square-dancing, etc. and does not do much of it anymore because she said that there are no men her age around and the younger ones (60's or so) can't keep their hands to theirself! 6/17/2002 - Trying to find Cathy Wilson,Cathy Wilson was her maiden name, she went to W.A. Berry High School in Birmingham Alabama between 1968 and 1970. Cathy and I ran away to get married when we were just teenagers. I cut the window screen out of her bedroom window and we left Birmingham with my best freind Gregg Morgan. We made it all the way to Hammond Indiana. We were almost out of money so we turned around and came back south to Gregg's grandmothers house in Kentucy. Where we stayed for about 3 days before retuning to Birmingham. Cathy's parents promised if we sought counseling from there pastor for 6 months and still wished to get married they would give there consent. We weren't back in Birmingham 2 weeks when they sent her to Bloomingvale North Carolina and I haven't seen her sence. That was in 1970 and I just want to know if she O.K.. 8/11/2002 - Researching a possible DuBois link in "lower Canada". Our ggg-grandfather and ggg-grandmother were Luke Wood and Emily Tart, who are listed on 1860 and 1880 Illinois census records as originating from "Lower Canada". The 1920 census record of their son, Charles Harlan Wood,confirms that his parents originated from Canada and that their native language was French. The area of Illinois that they settled (Greene and Calhoun counties) had a significant French population. That led us to wonder if their last names were anglicized to "Wood" from perhaps "DuBois" and "Letarte".
We are at a loss, however, on where to look further for advice. Luke was born in 1814, Emily in 1816.

8/30/2002 - I am seeking information about Ellen DuBois (Harrington). She was born in New York State and moved with her family to Illinois in 1855. She married Oliver C. (O C) Harrington in 1855 in Ogle County, Illinois and moved to Waverly, Iowa. There she gave birth to 11 children, 8 of whom lived past infancy. Her husband was a prominent citizen and was elected to the Assembly, representing Bremer County. She is listed as a landowner in the 1895 Bremer County Census.

8/15/2003 - My name is Kathryn Parham, I am Alec's grand-daughter. I would like to thank all of you who tried to find Glenn for him and my mother Faye. I had time to except my grandfather's death and I know that he is ok now. My mother is one of the brave. She stayed by his side the whole time and took very good care of him. The rise and fall of his health was hard. I know for 103 years he lived a good and wonderful life. I was also lucky to have held his hand and stayed by his side along with my father Lee, to the very end. I know this is something I had to do for him and my mother. I promised him I wouldn't leave and I didn't. That is the hardest thing a person should ever have to do. All of you who done so much will forever be in our prayers and I don't think we should give up on that other side of our missing family. I think Big Daddy would want us to continue the search. 8/27/2005 - hello, my name is william alec dubois and a.a. dubois is my grandfather. my fathers name was william thomas dubois and my mother is wanda lee dean dubois of vallejo california. my father lived in cleveland ms. until his death a few years ago. all us grandchildren called a.a. dubois "big daddy", a name given to him by my sister, debra lynn dubois,the oldest of the grandchildren as far as we know at this point. I live in batesville ms. now with my wife and son. bigdaddy lived in roundlake ms. for most of the time as far back as the early 60s i know and i still remember running the nets, traps and the hustle he used to make a living. he could do about anything he sat his mind to. i have helped him pour concrete, sell fish.furs, watermellons,or anything eles he could think of with my father and uncle larry. uncle pete (bigdaddys brother) and his sons were concrete finishers and multi talented as well. i just stumbled up on this site and it brought back old memories. im glad someone took the time to do this. by the way, hello kathryn parham! i havent seen you in a while, tell faye and lee and honey(nana), stacy and everybody eles i said hello. william alec dubois( bill)
