The AIRS collection, established in 2001, covers everything from birth records to obituaries, military service during the Civil War to World War I, and almost every aspect of daily life and day to day business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. You will find ads from old family businesses and farms, salary or school records, obituaries which range from one paragraph to several pages long and even records of war service. Plus, many of these items include photos, portraits or engravings of the individuals.
Many of these books, documents and historical records are one of a kind or are extremely rare -- we have indexed them to assist in your research. We index biographies, directories, yearbooks, alumni guides, necrologies, tax books, journals, magazines and more.
Use the search box below to dig through the names indexed from this collection, and when you find a match, you'll be able to easily order a quality reprint of the page(s) that mentions your ancestor - reprints that are copied directly from the original sources. Included with every reprint order are copies of the title page, lists of abbreviations and any additional information of value to researchers.
Please check this database for all the branches and surnames from your family tree.
The reprint service fees range from $2 to $8 and are based on the amount of information for individuals in each particular document or book. Additional names are added to this index on an ongoing basis.
