Turning Over New Leaves

The Boys From WWII

by Judy Sander Cockrell

As I had mentioned in my column two weeks ago, I have a grand favor to ask my readers. I have a box of great pictures from World War II. In some cases I have multiple pictures and group shots of these men.

Please look this list over carefully. I may have a photo to add to your album!

  • TONY RUSSO - NEW JERSEY
  • OTIS GRUBBS JR. (TEX) - TEXAS
  • BERNIE HART - BOSTON, MASS.
  • DICK KNIGHT - SPRINGFIELD MASS.
  • LARRY DAY - MIAMI FLORIDA
  • LARRY GRUENER - COLDWATER, MICHIGAN
  • EDDIE PERRY - UNKNOWN
  • ANTHONY (TONY) TADDONIO - BRONX, NYC
  • LARRY O'KEIFE - SPRINGFIELD MASS.
  • JOHNNY GIBBS - VIRGINIA
  • JACK MURRAY - NEW YORK
  • DEL GROTHE - N DAKOTA
  • JOHN CLEMENTS - UNKNOWN
  • CHUCK CLANCY - UNKNOWN
  • CHUCK MITCHELL - UNKNOWN
  • TOM MURRAY JR. - NEWARK, NJ
  • JOHN RANCH - PARMER, MASS
  • JOESPH CHRISTOPHER HOFFMAN - WALLINGTON, NJ

Are you researching any of the families of these young soldiers? Are you perhaps one of these men? If so, please contact me. Nothing would make me happier than to see Johnny come marching home!

And while we are on the subject of lost photos, Take a peek and see how these photos made their way to the world wide web.

Check out Lost Photos web site. Amazing!
