Thomas O'Neill came to the US in 1880-82, married Mary Hannon in 1882 in Dixon, Illinois. Mary was the daugher of Hugh and Agnes (Mallone)Hannon. Thomas was the son of Hugh and Bridget(Hoey) O'Neill in Rathfarnham, Ireland, born in 1860-62, November, babtised in Rathfarnham Parrish (RC) in December, 1862. His Grandfather was Hugh O'Neill, Grandmother was Mary Lennon, apparently also in Rathfarnham region of Ireland.
I need information as to the ship he came here, and what port, it isn't listed on his Immigration papers, or Marriage License.
Thomas & Mary Jane had eight children, one of whom died, and two were a set of twins, Henry and Charles. Most of the children migrated to their sister Agnes (O'Neill) Willams' home in Indiana. They married and scattered from that point: Summitville, Indiana.
My Grandfather, Henry (one of the twins) was born in 1899, January in Dixon, Illinois, died in June 1965 in Servia, Indiana.
I am researching for my Mother Peggy O'Neill/ Sproat. Her Mother Sarah Johnston/O'Neill was born in Berea, Kentucky, came to Marion, Indiana where she married my Grandfather Henry in 1925(+/-2yrs) in Gas City, Indiana. She too was one of eight children, one of whom died at six mos after his Mother, my Grandmother Sarah died in 1936 (my Mother, Peggy was five years old).
Any information would be appreciated, I have lots of info from my Great Grandfather down to the present day: there are three male O'Neill's known to carry on the name.
