California State Archives
The California State Archives collects, catalogs, preserves, and provides access to the historic records of state government and some local governments. The Archives also administers an oral history program which documents state government policies through interviews with state government officials and others.
Oregon State Archives
Oregon Historical County Records Guide Includes maps, county and office histories, and a comprehensive descriptive inventory of selected records for each of Oregon's thirty-six counties.
Idaho State Historical Society Library and Archives
The Idaho State Historical Society Library and Archives holds a large collection of material relating to the history of Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. The collection is extremely varied in subject, geographic area, and time period. It includes both historical and genealogical information and covers a wide variety of mediums, including manuscripts, state archives, books, periodicals, oral history interviews, motion picture films and videos, microfilm, and maps. In addition, the Library and Archives collection supports the Historical Society's other collections as a repository of general reference materials.
Nevada State Archives
The Nevada State Archives was created in 1965 and Records Management in 1967. They were combined in 1983 to administer a comprehensive and cost effective program for the creation, maintenance, retention, preservation and disposition of records of the executive branch of state government. 
State of Washington Archives
The Archives & Records Management Division has the responsibility of collecting, preserving, and making available for research the historical records of the state. The archival collections date from the establishment of Washington Territory in 1853 to the present; among them are papers from governors and legislators, documents from all levels of the court system, records of the state Legislature, state agencies, county governments, and city and town halls.
Utah State Archives
The Utah State Archives and Records Service is a state government agency that works with records created by other state and local governmental entities in Utah. Records of historical value are housed in our permanent collections and are available for research. We also facilitate good records management practices within agencies.
Arizona History and Archives
The Arizona History and Archives Division identifies, collects, preserves and provides access to the historical manuscripts, government records, books and photographs of Arizona and its peoples.
New Mexico State Archives and Historical Resources
As archivists, our primary goal is to maintain, preserve, and make available to the public the permanent records of New Mexico.
Colorado State Archives
The Colorado State Archives is the legal repository for selected historical and contemporary records and information generated by state and local governments in Colorado. The National Association of Government Archives and Records Administration and the Council of State Governments have said that state archives are the guardians of much of a state's public documentary heritage, resources essential in establishing a citizen's rights, understanding his past, coping with his present, and planning for his future...The value of a state archive stems from the information it contains and the evidence it provides. Its records are essential to administrative and cultural continuity.
Wyoming State Archives
This unit collects and manages public records from Wyoming state and local governments that have long term administrative, legal, and historical value. These records document the activities of government in Wyoming and the history of the state and are available for research. Records are filed under the office of origin. Archives and Historical Research also collects non-governmental records of historical value concerning Wyoming and the western United States. This group of records includes: Western books and periodicals, Wyoming newspapers, manuscript collections, Wyoming and western maps, military records, Wyoming business records, historical photographs, and biographies.
Montana State Archives
Montana State Archives mission is to identify, acquire, preserve, and make available the permanently-valuable private papers and public records of Montana.
Alaska State Archives
Archives and Records Management provide services to all branches of state government. The Records Management Section establishes records retention schedules, offers off-site storage and retrieval of inactive records, provides training in current files management, and sets statewide standards for the management of public records. The Archives Section identifies, preserves and makes available for research the public records of the state. In addition, this section offers micrographic services to state agencies including source document filming.
Hawaii State Archives
The Hawaii State Archives was established in 1905 and has the legal responsibility of appraising, collecting, preserving and making available for research records of enduring value of the state and territorial governments, the Republic of Hawaii and the Hawaiian Kingdom. Functions of the Hawaii State Archives are mandated by Hawaii Revised Statutes, Chapter 94.
