A New Quest for Ancestors

Genealogy Today announced the addition of Ancestor Quest to its family of sites. AQ started off in 1996 as a single page of Passenger List links, and was launched to help people find their roots.

"At that time there was not as much on the web as there is now. As it grew and more people visited it, I didn't have the time to dedicate to the site as I once did," commented Randy Treadway, the AQ founder. "Working with Genealogy Today I am confident we will fulfill my initial vision which was to see the site stay free for everyone."

Ancestor Quest is organized into multiple sections. Complementing the Passenger List links are numerous Civil War, Native American, African American, Hispanic and Search Engine links. In addition, there are helpful tips and pointers and an extensive Genealogical Dictionary.

"It gives me great pleasure to be able to preserve and continue one of the earliest Internet havens for genealogists," added Illya D'Addezio, owner of Genealogy Today. "Randy's contribution to Genealogy will be well taken care of by the many Team Roots volunteers who pitch in around our sites. "
