Genealogy Today (www.genealogytoday.com) announced that during the month of April, its subscription data products will be consolidated into a single offering. The new subscription service will simply be called "Genealogy Today Subscription Data," and include the following databases: Family Tree Connection, Town Reports Online, and the Military Roots Project. In addition, the Ancestral Criminal Records collection of mug shots and wanted posters will be merged.
"This change is intended to increase subscriber value," commented Illya D'Addezio, owner of Genealogy Today. "Having a single subscription data product will provide our subscribers with access to a greater amount of information without impacting their budgets for genealogy products and services."
The merger of the various databases will occur throughout the month of April; and, there will be no action required of existing subscribers to benefit from these changes. Pricing for Genealogy Today Subscription Data will be $29.95 per year (the current price of Family Tree Connection). Consumers will have an optional upgrade that includes the non-database subscription article service GenWeekly for $32.95 per year (the current price of the Subscription Data Package).
"This change is also about simplifying our online service (and behind-the-scenes processes) in preparation for future database growth," added Illya. "Expect to see an increase in the transcribed materials released each week."
Along with these changes, a new Subscription Data section will be added to the GenealogyToday.com web site. This new area will highlight the individual original documents which are transcribed as part of the database project. All existing pages relating to the former individual database products will automatically forward visitors to the appropriate page in the new section.
