Mid Continent Services, an Internet marketing company, announced a partnership with Genealogy Today (www.genealogytoday.com) to bring their digital archive of old photographs to the Genealogy Marketplace. The Vanished Photo Collection was established in 1998.
"The pictures we feature were taken between 1875 and 1940 and have been gathered from around the United States," explained Terry Houghland, owner of Mid Continent Services. "By partnering with Genealogy Today more viewers will be able to view our collection and purchase some images for their research."
Having a photo of an ancestor is a great addition to your written history or family video history you may make. Photos are also good for showing family resemblances. Sometimes photos are helpful in showing genetic health concerns.
"This is a very nice collection of images," commented Illya D'Addezio, owner of Genealogy Today. "Working with Terry and his team we've been able to integrate their archive into our search tools making it very efficient for visitors to see if they have relatives in the collection."
These 600 dpi scans are ready for digital reproduction either on a quality color printer or at your local photo shop. Sizes vary based on original photograph. Scanning fees range between $7.95 and $9.95 per image.
"This is the first of several services we hope to offer via the Genealogy Today web site," added Terry. "It's a perfect combination - our excellent products for genealogists and the great search tools of their site."
